My family lived very close to Richter's Grocery when I was growing up. I feel like I must have stopped there at least once a day for candy, etc,, as it was on my way from school. I have many great memories of Bill and the grocery store. I remember him speaking to everyone that came in and called them by name as they came in. Bill, his wife and the grocery store are one of the really great childhood memories I have. My deepest condolences to the entire Richter family.

My condolences to the family. I grew up at the Richter store buying candy and pop. Mr. Richter was a very nice and friendly man, always with a smile. That is the very reason that when I seen him many years later at Krogers I knew who he was.

So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. His store was frequented by my family for years. Bill would let you take as long as you wanted so you could pick out the perfect piece of candy from the box. Kind, patient, caring. He will be missed!! Thank you for your service, Bill.

To the Richter family, As neighborhood kids we were at Richters store sometimes several times a day. Mr. Richter was an important part of the fun of getting penny candy from the penny candy box. Very sorry for your loss. He will be remembered. The Grabb girls
