William M. “Bill” Owens, 84, passed from this life on Saturday March 5, 2022. He was born on January 30, 1938 in Floyd County, KY to the late Walter and Patsy (Johnson) Owens. On November 28, 1958 he married Bernadine McDonald who preceded him in death on November 28, 2008.
Surviving are daughters; Lisa Fisher, Chillicothe, and Denise (Larry) Entingh, Galloway, a son; Christopher Owens, Columbus, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister; Avonell Allison, Waverly. He was preceded in death by a son; Michael Owens, a son-in-law; Rodger Fisher, a granddaughter; Missy Simkins, sisters; Myrtle (Jim) Arms, Eva Owens, Ethel (Marlin) Ratcliff, Florence (James) Davis, Emogene (James) Middleton, and Winifred (David) Helton, and brothers; Jeff Owens, and Scotty (Shirley) Owens.
Bill had worked for Nabisco for 25 years as a salesman, retiring in 1990. He was a 1956 graduate of Waverly High School. Bill was an avid gardener and enjoyed painting and fishing. He enjoyed watching college football and basketball, and playing the harmonica and guitar.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday March 11, 2022 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeff Rhoads, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. An online memorial is available at www.fawcett-palmer.com.
