Susan Marie (Corcoran) Knight

Susan Marie (Corcoran) Knight, 65, of Chillicothe, died at her home, surrounded by family at 10:16am Saturday, January 23, 2021, following an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1955 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late John L. and Doris E. (Hart) Corcoran.

On September 11, 1982 she married Gregory Dawson Knight, the love of her life who survives her.

In addition, to her parents, grandparents, and father and mother-in-law, Henry and Wilma (Bentley) Knight, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Jane Corcoran, nephew, Connor Hart Corcoran, brothers-in-law, Steven and Craig Knight, sister-in-law, Iris Knight and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are 4 children, Stephanie Corcoran, Chillicothe, OH; Steven Knight, Nashville, TN; Samuel (Arturo) Knight; and Sean Knight, Columbus, OH; 5 grandchildren, Isaac Downs, Ava, and Evangeline Knight; and Aeden and Sophia Montalvo.

Also surviving are 14 siblings; John (Cheri) Corcoran, Oxford, OH; Kathy (Brad) Sutter, South Salem; Michael Corcoran, Chillicothe; Jody (Tom) Rittenhouse, Waverly; Judy (Tony) Liles, Waxhaw, NC; David Corcoran, Chillicothe; Peggy (Bill) Hamman, Circleville; Joe (Michelle) Corcoran, Paul Corcoran, Nick (Mona) Corcoran and Bambi (Andy) Jones, Chillicothe; Chuck (Kasey) Corcoran, Las Vegas, NV; Doug (Teresa) Corcoran and Angie (Aaron) Brown, Chillicothe. Survivors also include brothers-in-law, Luther (Cheryl) Knight; Rex (Bev) Knight and sisters-in-law, Lynn (Terry) Russell and Teresa (Jim) Laux.  In addition, she is survived by a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Susan graduated from Bishop Flaget High School, Chillicothe in 1974.  She married Greg and spent her life serving others for 32 years as an RN at Adena. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, she was a model of love and service to us all.

Susan was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 with Fr. Tim Hayes officiating. COVID-19 protocols will be in place, and social distancing and masks are requested.  Burial will follow at St. Margaret Cemetery, in honor of Susan, any nurses attending, feel free to wear your scrubs.  The service will be live streamed from St. Peter's Catholic Church Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bishop Flaget Endowment Fund or Adena Oncology Department.
