Roger Glass Obituary

Roger Dean Glass, 94, beloved husband of Lynda Lou Fent Glass, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Embrace Hospice House, Myrtle Beach, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Glass was born September 19, 1927, in Jeffersonville, Ohio to Delbert L. Glass and Juanita Thomas Glass, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Silvercreek High School in Jamestown, OH and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
Mr. Glass, a former resident of Chillicothe, OH and Ocean Isle Beach, NC, was employed for many years as a pharmaceutical representative for Wyeth Laboratories. He was highly involved in organizing and conducting polio vaccine clinics for the children of Ross County in the years immediately following the vaccine’s authorization for use.
From 1970 until retirement in 1992, he was co-owner of Fawcett-Oliver and Glass Funeral Home. While living in Chillicothe, Mr. Glass was an involved community member, having served on various charitable boards of directors and he was a longtime member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church.
Mr. Glass was a lifetime patriot and proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1945-1947, during which time he was stationed at Naval Station Mayport, Jacksonville, FL.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 76 years, is a daughter, Ronda Glass Wilson (Keith) of Georgetown, SC; a son, Gregory K Glass (Sherry) of Pooler, GA; two grandsons, Benjamin Detzler (Shannon) of Myrtle Beach, SC; Connor Glass (Megan) of Raleigh, NC’ a step-grandson, Brian Wilson (Marie) of Greer, SC; s step-granddaughters, Laura Ann Wilson and Addie Mae Wilson; nieces and nephew, Cheri Stanforth and Sue Stanforth Pitstick (Ted), both of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Dale Fent (Brenda) of Mansfield, TX.
Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Evelyn Glass Stanforth and a granddaughter, Sarah Detzler
A private family service will be held, followed by burial in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
