Pamela S. “Pam” Smith, 71 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus following an extended illness. She was born May 29, 1949 in Chillicothe, the daughter of John W. and Naomi (Bryan) Hopper, Sr. On Oct. 18, 1969 she married Thomas R. Smith, and together they shared 51 years together.
Surviving is her husband; daughters, Angela Smith, Chillicothe, and Kimberly (Carl) Lawhorn, Richmond Dale; grandchildren, Jonathan, and Jacob Murch; step-grandchildren, Austin, and Sierra Lawhorn; sisters, Becky Anderson, and Ruth (Wes) Crowe, all of Chillicothe; a special friend, Vera May, Chillicothe and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John W. Hopper, Jr., and James Hopper.
Pam was the office manager for Steve Dawes, CPA for 24 years. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church and had attended Goshen Run Church for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 in the First Wesleyan Church with Pastors Jon Welch, and Tim Wyman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Social distancing and the wearing of masks are requested. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions, in honor of Pam, to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
