Marshall William (Bill) Eblin, 81, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on June 24, 2023 in Traditions of Chillicothe. He was born on April 2, 1942 to the late Marty and Grace Eblin in Chillicothe.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Constance Ann Minshall Eblin, children, Becky Eblin (John Hamm), Chillicothe, Malcolm Eblin, Troy, OH, Grace Roberts (David), Chillicothe, Jeff Minshall (Dana), Waverly, OH, Tim Minshall (Lisa), Chillicothe, and Cindy Ford, Florida, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, April Foster, Ben, Nate, and Abbey Foster, Dustin & Sarah Burns and Hudson, Chad Burns, Scott and Jaxon, Brooke Diehl, Amber Eblin and Lily Grace, Alyssa Eblin, Kamryon and Kolton, Brian and Tara Robertson, Effy and Miller, Cole Minshall, Cody Higgs, Calli Higginbotham and fiancé Michael Higgins, Kaci Minshall and fiancé David Solid, Audrey Minshall, Jessica Riffle, Trevor Riffle, Anthony Bickers and Nick Seymore, sister, Bonnie Newcome and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He was preceded in death by, a son John Michael Eblin; sisters, Mildred Murphy, Jane Wilhelm, and Marilyn Park; brothers Martin S., Butch, and James Eblin.
Bill was the owner and operator of Eblin’s Tree Service from 1974-2022 in Chillicothe and the surrounding area. Bill was very proud and thankful for the time and people he met along the way. Bill also wanted to thank Tim Leach and Kevin Hall for their many years working in the trees with him.
Bill owned two furniture stores in Chillicothe in 1965 and was support at the Wobbly Ghost in Chillicothe since it opened.
Bill served in the US Army in Vietnam in 1966-1967, with a support unit of the 71st assault helicopter unit, the Ohio National Guard in 1976 and 1977 with the 101st Engineering Company. He was also a member of The Moose Lodge 1626 with his Pilgrim Degree awarded in 1998, the VFW Post 108 where he was a life member and held the office of Commander for 8 years, being Captain of the Color Guard for 20 years and has held multiple other offices in the organization since 1967. He was also a member of the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association, National Rifle Association, Elks Lodge Post 52, American Legion Post 62, and a Life Member of AM Vets Post 4.
Bill was a huge supporter of all veterans and enjoyed many years of service with them. He was always available to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all of them.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 29, 2023 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS and PALMER Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating, and with Martin R., Malcolm, Eddie, & Butch Eblin, and Rebecca Uhrig. Military rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, with Bob Leach officiating. A private burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery at the discretion of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family wishes to thank National Church Residence Hospice Care.
