Lawrence “Toehead” Campbell, Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2022, following a long illness. Toehead, the second oldest son of the late William and Elma (Skaggs) Campbell is proceeded in death by his parents, the love of his life, Ms. Jeanette Lorain Menges, brothers John Lee and Ralph and sisters Thelma and Ida.
Toehead is survived by his daughter, Miranda Dunham, Utica, New York, her children Taylor Smith of Chillicothe, Zachary and Brooke Ward and Justin, Sienna, Gabriella, and Gavin Dunham. He also is survived by four great-grandchildren, Malachi, Joshua, and Emma Jo Ward and Maryn Smith. Lastly, he is survived by his siblings, their spouses, two sister-in laws and numerous nieces and nephews: brothers Ovid (Mary) Campbell, Bill (Connie) Campbell, sisters Sue (Garry) Graves, Debbie Campbell, Laverne (Ronnie) Dotson, Jeanette Campbell, and sister-in-laws Molly Campbell and Judy Campbell.
Toehead was employed as a heavy-machine equipment operator until injury forced him into retirement and he resided in Pottsville, Pennsylvania for a large portion of his adult life. He was a big man with a big heart and a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. The family would like to express a special thank you to Robie Campbell for her caring and perseverance.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the hour of service on Tuesday. The family will receive those who attend at the Londonderry Cemetery Church following the committal service.
