Judith A. Caplinger

Judith A. Caplinger, 82, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born May 24, 1940 in Ross County, the daughter of Leroy and Elizabeth (Seeling) Johnson.  On April 10, 1970 she married Robert L. Caplinger, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Bobbi (Scott) LaGard, Theresa (Wesley) Damron and Tammy (Scott) Wilbanks, all of Chillicothe; sons, Thomas (Rebecca) Hewitt and Chester (Beth) Hewitt, all of Chillicothe and Scott Hewitt, California; a step-son, Robert (Cyndy) Caplinger, Circleville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Betty) Johnson and Robert Johnson, all of Chillicothe and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Maxine Garrison and Betty Smith and a brother, Donnie Johnson.

Judith was a retired bus driver for the Paint Valley School System.  She attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and enjoyed crafting, crocheting and camping.  She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Dane Knapp officiating.  Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the hour of service on Wednesday.
