Dorothea Roberta “Dot” Magill, 90 of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning, December 19, 2020 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born April 6, 1930 in Ross County to the late Albert and Elva (Skaggs) Doyle. On March 18, 1948 she married to George Gordon “Red” Magill, and they shared 71 years together before his passing on May 14, 2019.
Dorothea was a stay-at-home Mom who devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of The Salvation Army where she proudly served as a Girl Guard and Sunbeam leader, Sunday School teacher, played the coronet in the band and gladly served in various capacities.
She is survived by her 7 children, Gordon (Janice) Magill, FL, Steven (Betty) Magill, PA, Marcia Magill, GA, Brenda Jordan, OH, Michael (Tam) Magill, OH, Brett (Kara) Magill, MO, and Roman New, OH. She is blessed with 17 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Corda Cozad, FL and a brother, Roger Doyle, SC.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Larry Spencer officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed on the funeral home website (www.fawcett-palmer.com) at 2:00 pm. A public graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 protocols, social distancing, and the wearing of masks in required.
