William G. Wood

William G. Wood, 64, of Chillicothe, entered into rest on February 6, 2011, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born January 23, 1947 in Chillicothe, to the late George H. and Eleanor (West) Wood. Surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Glenn Swaney, Daphne, AL, an uncle, Samuel Wood, Chillicothe, a niece, Karen (Swaney) Wehn, Lockport, NY, a nephew, John Kevin Swaney, Trussville, AL, several great nieces, nephews, and cousins and two close friends, Carolyne Nice, Ron Pinkerton and Bill Marsh. Mr. Wood graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1965, and went on to earn his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Purdue University, specializing in foreign languages. Bill was an accomplished linguist and an expert on numerous dialects of Spanish and Middle Eastern languages. Private services will be held at the discretion of the family. Calling hours will not be observed. The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family. Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
