William (Bill) B. Raines, 84, of Chillicothe, Ohio passed on August 6th, 2026, at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
Bill was born on October 18, 1941, to the late Carl and Ruth Raines. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and went on to serve the country as a U.S. Marine and was in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he worked at the Chillicothe Fire Department and retired as an Assistant Fire Chief.
On January 1, 1963, he married Anne (McMahon) Raines who he is survived by.
Also surviving are sons W. Christopher (Starlet) Raines, J. Barry (Angel) Raines; Grandchildren, Emily & Molly Raines, Bambi Marcum, Travis, Tabby, Taylor, Tricia, Stella, Heather, Christopher, Victoria, McKenna, Kaleigh (Raines), Jordan Harrington, Megan & Madison Raines, Josh Yates. He also left behind 23 great grandchildren and a sister, Cathy Hayes.
Bill’s life enjoyments were his grandchildren, western movies and boat time on the lake.
He was predeceased by his parents. Brother; Bob Raines, Sister; Marlene Forcum. Son; Thomas Raines.
The family would like to thank the VA medical center for their support in the short time Bill was with them, as well as Storms Chapel and The Bridge of Bourneville for their love and support during this difficult time.
Family will receive friends and family at the Bridge of Bourneville: 10499 Upper Twin Rd. Bourneville, OH after the service.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday August 10, 2026 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Revs. Sammy Cooper and Jamie Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday August 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. An online memorial is available at www.fawcett-palmer.com.
