William Edward Elder, 75 of Chillicothe, passed from this life suddenly at 1:26 PM, Friday, October 17, 2008 in Adena Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating . Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday. He was born December 10, 1932 in Beason, WV, the son of Harley and Laura Simmons Elder. On April 25, 1964 he married the former Carolyn Woolum, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Debra and Roger Widner, Minneapolis,MN; 2 granddaughters, 7 great grandchildren, one sister Alma Jean (Lowell) Blevins, 4 brothers Harley (Leola) Elder, Jr, Carl (Janet) Elder, Charles Ray (Sharon) Elder, and Leroy Elder, all of Chillicothe, his special golfing friend Don Tisdale, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, mother-in-law Mabel Woolum, and brother-in-law Charles Woolum preceded him in death. Mr. Elder was was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force. He retired from Central Center Auto Parts in 1998, and enjoyed golfing at the VA Golf Course.
