William Robert "Bob" Dyer, 74, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born April 15, 1937, in Chillicothe, the son of Charles and Oma (Cox) Dyer. On June 2, 1956, he married Mary E. Gleason, who survives. Also surviving is his father, Charles Dyer, Chillicothe, daughters; Vicki Lanman and Sherry (Alan) Spindler, both of Chillicothe, sons; William Robert (Susan) Dyer, Jr., Chillicothe, and Dwight E. (Tami) Dyer, Kingston, a brother Larry (Kathy) Dyer, Chillicothe, grandchildren; Shawn, Chad, Amy, Adam, Brandon, Wendy, and Shane, and 11 great-grandchildren. His mother preceded him in death. Mr. Dyer was an industrial mechanic for WearEver and for Thomson Industries. He was also the former owner of the North Fork Sportsman Center for several years. A Life Member of NRA, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Private funeral services will be held at the discretion of the family. Calling hours will not be observed. The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Adena Health System and the Chillicothe Baptist Church.
