Virginia L. (Shear) Canan Schwart

Virginia L. (Shear) Canan Schwart, 90, of Circleville, formerly of Chillicothe passed from this life on Thursday evening, September 17, 2015 in Brown Memorial Home, Circleville.  She was born February 9, 1925 in Cambridge, OH, the daughter of Frank M. and Mary (Corwin) Shear.  In 1946 she married Robert L. Canan who preceded her in death in 1974.  In 1985 she married Harold W. Schwart who preceded her in death in 2001.

Surviving are sons, David S. (Anne) Canan, Circleville, Steven L. (Susan) Canan, Valrico, FL, and Bruce A. (Donna) Canan, Kirkwood, MO; grandchildren, Steven (Elizabeth), Heather (Chris) Cazzola, Jenny, Gavin, Michael (Hillary), Matthew, Sean (Jocelyn), Ryan (Kelly), Robert Lee II and Andrew; 7 great-grandchildren and one expected; and a dear friend, Marie Bethel, Chillicothe.  Her parents, husbands and a sister, Helen (Fred) Willis preceded her in death.

Virginia was secretary at Smith Middle School for 23 years, retiring in 1985.  She was a member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church.

Private services will be held at the discretion of the family.  Calling hours will not be observed.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Circleville Presbyterian Church, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville, OH 43113 or to Pickaway Co. Hands For Disabled, 210 Lancaster Pk., Circleville, OH 43113.
