Virgil Madden

Virgil Jesse Madden, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Friday evening October 7, 2022 in Signature Health Care following an extended illness. He was born December 29, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Virgil J. and Elizabeth (Justice) Madden. Surviving are children, Christina Madden, of Chillicothe, Virgil J. (Kathy) Madden, of Galena, Evert (Jamie) Madden, of Columbus; grandchildren, David Wright (Kristen Barney), Amy (Mike) Funk, Donovan (Dusty) Cremeens, Jeffery (Jessica) Madden, Kristopher Madden; great grandchildren, Nevaeh Theiss, Cherokee Funk, Franklin Funk, Jessiah Madden, Melody Madden, London Madden, Evert Madden; and his beloved dog, Lady. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Madden; step father, Everett Perry; spouses, Carolyn Madden, Vera Madden, and Frances Madden. Virgil was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a former shipping clerk and warehouse manger for Westinghouse and the Majestic Paint Company. He was a member of Christian Life Tabernacle, Chillicothe Eagles # 600, Ross County Senior Citizens, AMVETS Post #4, and Moose Lodge # 1626. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is honored to serve the Madden family.
