Virgil Howard

Virgil Howard, 91, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday morning Feb. 2, 2016, in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 7, 1924 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Victor and Wana (Montgomery) Howard. On Jan. 29, 1946 he married Aleta R. Cuckler, who survives.
Surviving are daughters; Sonnie (Ralph) Alexander, Debbie (Dan) Sparks, Vickie (Tim) Conley, all of Chillicothe, Sherry (Bobby) Tackett and Peggy (Earl) Tackett, both of Waverly, sons; Gary (Jane) Howard, Virgil D. (Joy) Howard, both of Chillicothe, David W. Howard, South Salem, Ronnie (Patty) Howard, Mike (Brenda) Howard, Mark (Shelly) Howard, and Rodney (Wendy) Howard, all of Chillicothe, 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers; Clayton and Richmond, and 3 great grandchildren.
Virgil attended Straight Creek Church, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor William Mack Walk officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
