Violet F. O'Dell

Violet F. O'Dell, 98, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, 2007 in Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born Oct. 21, 1909 in Jackson County, the daughter of Edward D. and Harriet (Bartlett) Cramblit. On Apr. 9, 1936 she married Dallas P. O'Dell who preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1991. Surviving are a host of nieces and nephews and close friends, James and Lenore Scott, Chillicothe. Her parents, a sister, 2 brothers and several nieces and nephews preceded her in death. Mrs. O'Dell was a former teacher with the Ross County School System. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a long-time Red Cross volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She had been recognized for contributing over 50,000 hours of volunteer service. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Tad Grover officiating. In accordance with Violet's wishes, calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
