Verna J. Burns

Verna J. Burns, 68, of Chillicothe passed from this life Thursday morning, Feb. 8, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born Apr. 24, 1938 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Seymore) Nichols. She was married June 15, 1957 to Thomas J. DiSario, Sr. who preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1980. On June 17, 1991 she married Charles E. Burns, who preceded her in death Apr. 15, 2002. Surviving is her step-mother, Ruby Nichols, Chillicothe, a daughter, Carmella (DiSario) Hagerman and husband, Tom, New Albany, OH, sons, Thomas Joseph DiSario, Jr. and wife, Belinda, Grandbay, AL and James Edward DiSario and wife Susan, Hilton head, SC, grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Trevor, Steven, Marian, William, Sophia and Ella, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Joyce Benedum and husband, Bill, Plain City, OH, and brothers, Ronald Nichols and wife, Jennifer, Donald Nichols and wife, Sally and John Nichols and wife, Cindy, all of Chillicothe. Her parents and a sister, Evelyn preceded her in death. Mrs. Burns was an employee of Herr's Foods, retiring in 2002. She was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Eagle's Aerie 600 Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Monday.
