Thelma Theresa Sprouse, 94, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday evening, Feb. 1, 2009 in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Rolsten officiating. Burial will follow in McDill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday. She was born June 16, 1914 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Albert C. and Minnie (Shiff) Kern. On Oct. 2, 1933 she married Donald Sprouse who preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1995. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Cutright, Thousand Oaks, CA, sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Sprouse, Vernon and Sharon Sprouse and Dane and Robin Sprouse, all of Chillicothe, David and Judy Sprouse, Dayton, OH, James and Sarah Sprouse, Columbus, OH and Randall and Roxanne Sprouse, Bellefontaine, OH, grandchildren, Monesa (Chris) Skocik, Jamison, Bradford and Robbie Sprouse, Teresa (Roger) Jones, Christina (Eric) Browder, Ann and Julie Cutright and Abbie, Drew and Kyle Sprouse, great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jordanne and Natalie Skocik, Taylor Sprouse, Christina (Arfin) Ali, Angela Jones, Crystal Sprouse and Ryder Cutright, a great-great-grandchild, Danny Ali, a sister, Pearl Clement, Wilmington, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents, brothers, John (Carrie) Kern, Ray (Thelma) Kern and Charles Kern, a brother-in-law, Alvin Clement and a sister-in-law, Bernice Jones preceded her in death. Mrs. Sprouse was a graduate of Centralia High School and had played on the girl's basketball team. She was a long-time member of Salem Community Church and was past president of the Salem Ladies Guild. Currently, she was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church and the Faithful Friends Guild. She was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to her family and friends. She will be missed by all.
