Sophia B. Collins

Mrs. Sophia B. Collins 86, of Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina died peacefully on September 3, 2008 in her home with loving care and support from the daughter, Barbara Ann, Barbara's son, Troy , and her son Robert; and with help of Brunswick County Liberty Home Care and Hospice. Sophia was born October 29, 1921 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to her parents the late Joseph and Sophie Niederberger. She is survived by her brother John Edward Niederberger of Ridge, New York and four nephews. She married Wayne L. Collins of Chillicothe, Ohio on August 8, 1942, during which time Mr. Collins was serving with the U.S. Marine Corp in Weymouth, Mass. They had a wonderful life together after 63 years of marriage, her husband preceded her in death January 22, 2006. Surviving are three children, Barbara Ann Collins Beeler and her husband Norman A. of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC, Robert A. Collins of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC and Wayne L. Collins Jr. and wife Sherry of Waverly, Ohio. Four grandchildren, Troy M. Collins and partner Sandra Steinbrook, Robert A. Collins, all of Chillicothe, Ohio, Lace M. Rider of Columbus, Ohio, Carol Collins Koch and husband John of Columbus, Ohio and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in St. Margaret's Cemetery with Deacon George Lovensheimer officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family. The family would like to give their sincere thanks for the love and support from Dr. Domenic A.
