Shirle J. (Greer) Hood

On Monday, March 31, 2014, Shirle J. Hood of Chillicothe crossed the Rainbow Bridge to join her beloved animals and her loved ones who had gone before.

She was born September 29, 1929 in Cincinnati to Emmett Hunt and Irma (Bogart) Greer.  She was a retired Lab Technician at Medical Center Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society, the YaYa Sisterhood, the Ross County Humane Society and the ASPCA.

Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Charles M. Hood; sons, Michael, Keith and Ryan; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; siblings, Robert Greer, Lois Philipps and Janet Keller.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jimmie and two beautiful children, Mark and Barbara.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the discretion of her family.  Calling hours will not be observed.  The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.  Memorial contributions have been requested to the Ross County Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Road, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
