Ruth (Poole) Montgomery

Martha Ruthann Montgomery, 87, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Sunday morning, May 19, 2024 in National Church Residences of Chillicothe.  She was born on March 18, 1937 in Londonderry, the daughter of the late Howard R. and Gladys (Burt) Poole.  On July 8, 1956 she married Franklin Montgomery who preceded her in death on December 14, 1995.

Surviving is her daughter, Vicki S. Etling, Chillicothe; a grandson, Dustin (Tiffany) Etling, great-grandsons, Reed LaRue Etling and Rowdy Leigh Etling, a sister, Linda S. Search, and her children, Matthew Large and Amie Hamman, and numerous other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Doug Etling, and brothers, Raymond Poole and Robert Poole.

Ruth was a graduate of Southeastern High School and had worked for several financial institutions.  She enjoyed going to the Scioto Downs Casino, going out to eat, drinking wine, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the nursing staff at National Church Residences for their excellent care of Ruth.
