Ruth Marie Miller, 87, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 in the Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 18, 1924 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Colburn) Lowry. On Dec. 11, 1945 she married Arthur J. Miller who preceded her in death Mar. 18, 2006 Surviving are her children, Linda Chester and fiance George Lockard, Chillicothe, Betty (Gary) Parks, Canal Winchester, Jeannie (Dave) Vickers, William Miller and companion, Teresa Blazer, Joy Mumford, Connie Fox, Steve (Jenny) Miller, Brenda (Dana) Martin and Beverly (Kenny) Burton, all of Chillicothe; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Scott, Peggy Baily, Bertha Alexander and Ada Bowles, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Charles (Patty) Lowry, Joe (Gypsy) Lowry, Carl (Vicki) Lowry and Pete (Norma) Lowry, all of Chillicothe; a host of nieces and nephews and her special friends from Traditions of Chillicothe. Her parents, husband, a daughter, Christine, sons-in-law, Mark Mumford and Phil Fox, sisters, Emmagene and Virginia and brothers, William, Jim and an infant brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller was a member of the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was a special and caring lady, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Ruth always had a smile on her face. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
