Ruth Irene (Bethel) Jones

Ruth Irene Jones, 91, of Chillicothe passed from this life on Thursday evening, November 19, 2015 in Grant Medical center, Columbus. She was born May 19, 1924 in Licking County, Ohio, the daughter of Elza and Effie (Speakman) Bethel. She was married to Robert S. Jones who preceded her in death in 2002.
Surviving are her sons, William (Angie) Jones and David (Cheryl) Jones, al of Chillicothe; a daughter-in-law, Annette Jones, South Salem; grandchildren, Greg (Lisa) Jones, Deanna (John) Redfearn, Adam Jones, Ashley (Matt) Annon and Roseanne (Robert) Verst; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Lauren, Allie, Emma, Anna, Katelynn, Benjamin and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert P. Jones, a grandson, Robert Kevin Jones and brothers, H. Glenn Bethel and Paul W. Bethel.
Mrs. Jones was a Safety Supervisor for the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 9, retiring in 1994. She was a long time member of the Sunrush Church of Christ and enjoyed family events. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the Chapel of the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with James Rankhorn and William Phillis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Wednesday.
