Russell Uhrig, Jr.

Russell Uhrig, Jr., 82, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Aug. 16, 2010 in Traditions of Bristol Village, Waverly following an extended illness. He was born Mar. 19, 1928 in Ross County, the son of the late Russell Uhrig, Sr., and Mazie (Chaney) Uhrig. On Sept. 3, 1949 he married Donna Jean Mitchell who preceded him in death Oct. 9, 1994. Surviving are his daughters, Thelma Jean and husband, Edward W. Lowe, Waverly and Cathy Jo and husband, Terry Congrove, Chilicothe, grandchildren, Keri Jo Caron, David William and wife, Shelva Lowe and Kathryn Beth Lowe and fiance', Randy Brown, great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Ryan Caron, Caleb Russell Caron, Macy Dawn Lowe and Kendal Jean Lowe, a brother, James E. and wife, Julia Uhrig, Chillicothe, a host of nieces and nephews and a friend and caregiver, Marlene Webster. His parents and a sister, Bertha Mae Uhrig preceded him in death. Mr. Uhrig was an employee of WearEver, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Mark Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday.
