Ruby G. Whitmer

Ruby G. Whitmer, 90, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday evening, May 4, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 19, 1920 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Edward and Mertie (Brown) Grubb. On Sept. 23, 1946 she married Marion E. "Butch" Whitmer, who preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2002. Surviving is a son, Jack (Barbara) Whitmer, Chillicothe, a foster son, Murch (Janet) Bruce, Kingston, step-grandchildren, Melea (Charles) Orr and Shanna (Gregory) Staten, foster grandchildren, Misty Lynn Bruce and Nicole Bruce, step-great grandchildren, Robert Orr, Tylor Orr and Reese Staten and foster great grandchildren, Bryce and Jonathan and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Whitmer was a member of Faith Chapel Church. She enjoyed bird watching and will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Tom Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to In Care Hospice.
