Ruby G. Basye

Ruby G. Basye, 91 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Thursday morning, Feb. 4, 2021 at her residence following a brief illness.  She was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Ross County, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Murphy) Hutton.

Surviving are her daughters, June (Johnny) Johnston, Donna (Rich) Brookshire, Vickie Osborne, and Rita (Jorge) Davila, all of TN; her sons, Terry Barnhart, Jackson, Michael (Karen) Barnhart, Londonderry, William (Bev) Smith, Richmond Dale, David Smith, and Robert (Terry) Smith, all of Chillicothe; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth and Betty and brothers, William, Frank, Howard, Ralph, and Charles.

Ruby had worked as a home health aide and as a barber.  She was a member of the New Life Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking.

Private visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Gary Scurlock officiating.  A public graveside services will be held at approximately 2:15 pm on Monday in Boblett Cemetery.  Social distancing and masks are requested.
