Roger Edward Strawser

Roger Edward Strawser, 66 of Chillicothe passed into the eternal embrace of God, 1:46 PM, Monday, August 6, 2007 in the Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness. He went to his final and everlasting reward while surrounded by his devoted wife, loving family, and dearest friends. Roger was born July 16, 1941 in Chillicothe to Philip E. and Geraldine L. Hatfield Strawser. On September 13, 1981, he married the former Roberta L. Jones, who survives. Also surviving are a son Thomas J. Strawser, Chillicothe; his mother Geraldine L. Strawser, Chillicothe; a brother, Lester (Patricia) Strawser, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless number of amazing friends and neighbors. He was preceded in passing by his father, Philip E. Strawser and an infant sister, Cheryl Strawser. Roger Retired from Chilpaco following 38 years of service. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed participating in the Men's Brotherhood and the JOY Sunday School Class, and Bible Study. He was a Civil War and American History Enthusiast and loved to travel. Most importantly, he was a true people person who enjoyed nothing more than sitting on the front porch and shootin' the breeze with friends and family. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon , August 11, 2007 in the Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Strawser Family Memorial Fund, c/o Homeland Credit Union, 310 Caldwell St, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
