Rodney Lee Archer, 61, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday evening, January 1, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 16, 1949 in Chillicothe, OH, to the late Albert and Rosetta Nancy (Kneece) Archer. Surviving are sons; Russell A. (Chasity) Archer and Randell L. (Charlena) Archer, both of Chillicothe, former wife; Nancy Ruth Decker, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Caylon Michael Archer, Mirrenda J. Archer, and Kiera Marie Archer, sisters; Linda Massie and Judy Davis, both of Chillicothe, brothers; David Archer, Chillicothe, and Johnny Newland, FL, four half brothers, and good friend, Lila Myers, Chillicothe. Mr. Archer was a nursing assistant for the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center for 37 years, retiring in 2010. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved his dogs. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday January 6, 2010, in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Tim Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
