Roberta Sue (Wills) Hammond

Roberta Sue Hammond, 87 of Londonderry, passed from this life on Thursday April 25, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center.  She was born on August 29, 1936 in Chillicothe, to the late Pleasant and Annabelle (Collins) Wills.

Surviving is her son Gregg and wife Edy Hammond, Londonderry, a brother Larry Wills (fiancé Kathy Brown), grandchildren, Molly (Dusty) Hash, Eric (Keegan) Hammond, Sarah (James) Ditty, Dawn (Joey) Lafevers, and Deanna (Matt) Crall, great-grandchildren, Cody, Claire, Conner, Collin, and Carter Hash, Aiden and Amelia Hammond, Bradley, Sydney, Ethan, Noah, and Laney Ditty, Evelyn and Elaina Crall, Kailee Lafevers, and Harley and Zach Bowling.  She was preceded in death by her son Tim, grandparents, and step-mother, Bessie.

Sue graduated from Allensville High School and attended the Holzer Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a graduate of Hocking College School of Practical Nursing, where she obtained an Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse.  She was employed at the old Chillicothe Hospital and retired from the Adena Regional Medical Center after 31 years of nursing service.

Sue was a member of the Pleasant Valley Holiness Church in Londonderry since she was a teenager.  She served in offices as a missionary leader, 2nd Elder, and taught Sunday School classes for many years.  She also served as the church organist, played piano, and loved music.  Sue enjoyed attending church, going to Gospel concerts, traveling, and the outdoors, including yardwork, flowers, and gardening.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday May 1, 2024 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Rosser, officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 30, 2024.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Holiness Church, c/o Hazel Martin, 288 Elam Rd., Ray, OH 45672.
