Robert “Bob” Wimbley, 79, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Wednesday morning, October 22, 2014 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born September 2, 1935 in London, Kentucky to the late Enoch and Elizabeth (Harrison) Wimbley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Irene Mack Wimbley.
On July 3, 2004, Bob was united in marriage to Rosemary (Hatfield) Beatty, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Robert J. Wimbley and James Beatty, both of Chillicothe; daughters, Kimberly Lowe, Gloria (Ron) Lynmen, Janet Netter, all of Chillicothe and Jacqueline Hobbs, Plainville, Illinois; grandchildren, Robert L. Wimbley, Robert K. Wimbley, Demetria Wimbley, Brandy Jordan, Tamara Beatty, Jeremy Beatty, Candice Beatty, Ashley Netter, Brock Netter and Jordan (Mike) Shepard; several great-grandchildren, a brother and nieces and nephews. His parents and several sisters and brothers preceded him in death.
Bob was a very kind, loving, soft spoken and caring person. He was a member of the Lifting Up Jesus Church. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a graduate of the Chillicothe Business School. He was a retired Food Services employee at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center with 20 years of service.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Obadiah Harris officiating, with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling hours will not be observed. The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
