Robert W. Tuvell, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, 2008 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Tad Grover officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday. He was born Oct. 10, 1929 in Ross County, the son of William P. and Margaret M. (Miller) Tuvell. On Nov. 23, 1951 he married the former Martha L. Handley who survives. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Leanna Tuvell, Chillicothe and Carol (Don) Shaffer, Lancaster, OH, nephews, CWO Bryan Tuvell, U.S. Navy, Keith Tuvell, Chillicothe, D. William (Lee Etta) Shoemaker, Sevierville, TN, Christopher Creamer, Cedarville, OH, nieces, Deborah Arehart, Cazenovia, NY and Tammy (David) Hirsch, Wheaton, IL, great nephews, Joseph Tuvell, Chesapeake, VA, Dan Shoemaker, Sevierville, TN, Jonathan Arehart, Cazenovia, NY, Ryan Creamer, Cedarville, OH and Henry Hirsch, Wheaton, IL, great nieces, Jessica Tuvell, Chesapeake, VA, Melanie Arehart, Cazenovia, NY, Luciene Hirsch, Wheaton, IL, a great-great niece, Chelsea Shoemaker, Cincinnati, OH and special cousins and many friends. His parents and brothers, Edward and Timothy Tuvell preceded him in death. He was a 1947 graduate of Chillicothe High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a supervisor with American Electric Power, retiring in 1993 with 40 years of service. Bob loved his church and his church family and was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for many years. He was past Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Worship Committee, served as the Sunday School Superintendent and was a past President and a Life Member of Trinity Men's Brotherhood. He served as Chairman of Trinity Men's Brotherhood Waffle Day for many years and was the representative to the Portsmouth District and the West Ohio United Men's Conference. He loved to play golf, work with wood, crafts and gardening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity U.M. Church memorial Fund, 24 S. Mulberry Street, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
