Robert D. Rozell, Sr.

Robert D. Rozell, Sr., 80, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life Tuesday evening, Mar. 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born Jan. 4, 1928 in Ross County, the son of Edward Aden and Irene Alice (Woltz) Rozell. On May 19, 1951 he married Sarah Carlene Pence who preceded him in death July 16, 1998. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert "David" and Dana Rozell, Chillicothe, William W. and Cindy Rozell, Urbana, OH, Aden H. and Becky Rozell, Earl E. and Virginia Rozell and a son, Michael L. Rozell, all of Chillicothe, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and David Riley and Charlotte and Philip Schobeloch, all of Chillicothe, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Jean Davis, Circleville, special friend, June Rowe, Chillicothe and a host of nieces and nephews. His parents, a sister, Lois Jean Echard and a brother, Charles Rozell preceded him in death. Mr. Rozell was an employee of Mead paper with 35 years service, retiring in 1990. A WW II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Andersonville United Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of Kingston Lodge 642, F&AM and the Ross County Senior Citizens. For many years, he was an active amateur radio operator with the call letters W8YEL. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, Mar. 29, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery with military graveside honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday.
