Robert B. Miller

Robert B. Miller, 81, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 28, 2008 in the Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus following an extended illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at Southeastern High School with Rev. Larry Miracle and Rev. Brian Justice officiating. Following cremation, private interment services will be in Londonderry Cemetery at the discretion of the family. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family. Mr. Miller was born Jan. 28, 1927 in Ross County, the son of James S. and Lucy O (Jones) Miller. On June 18, 1950 he married Patricia M. Fuller who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1992. Surviving is a daughter, Nancy J. Lallier and a son and daughter-in-law, Robert K and Donna N. Miller, all of Chillicothe, his long time companion, Marjorie Distelhorst, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Amanda (John) Darling, Megan (Andy) Posey, Sara (Russell) Kiser and Christopher and Bradley Miller, great grandchildren, Joshua Darling and Landen and Leila Kiser, brothers, Samuel A. Miller, Richard R. Miller, Chillicothe, Clarence "Jack" Miller, Londonderry and Charles O. Miller, Chillicothe. His parents and 3 brothers preceded him in death. He was an employee of Mead Paper for over 40 years, retiring in 1991 and was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Chillicothe. A WW II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy. Bob was a member of the Southeastern Board of Education, serving as Vice President. He was a Southeastern Stars mentor and was a member of the Scioto Valley Honor Guard, The Mt. Logan Riding Club, The Redman Lodge and was a long time 4H Advisor. He was devoted to his family, his country and his community and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Miller Scholarship Fund, 2003 Lancaster Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601
