Robert T. Jester, 65, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed from this life on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the home of his son in Chillicothe, Ohio following an extended illness. He was born June 18, 1948 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert E. and Amelia (Bosco) Jester.
Surviving is his former wife, Carole Jester, Wintersville, Ohio; sons, Nathan (Stephanie) Jester, Chillicothe, Ohio, Dustin Jester, Wintersville, Ohio and Brandon (Tina) Jester, Fort Laramie, Ohio; a grandson, Jackson Jester; sisters, Peggy (Raymond) Corcoran, Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, Diane Thomas, Sylvania, Georgia and Angie Jester, Winder, Georgia; a brother, Ralph (Dee) Jester, Winder, Georgia and a brother-in-law, Bruce Beeles, Winder, Georgia. His parents and a sister, Lois Beeles preceded him in death.
Mr. Jester was a retired coal miner for AEP. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving a two year tour in Vietnam as a Sergeant. Later in his life he served as a mentor and supporter to many veterans at the Grand Junction Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was a dedicated father and grandfather to his three sons and his grandson and was a very loyal and caring man.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Ohio with Chaplin Bruce Hines officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Voluntary Service Office at Grand Junction Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
