Robert L. Imboden

Robert L. Imboden, 85, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, following a brief illness. He was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Logan, OH, the son of Ernest and Lena (Fickel) Imboden. On Nov. 22, 1962, he married Beverly E. Southward, who preceded him in death Sept. 8, 2004.

Surviving are his daughters, Beth, and husband Robert Wing, Lancaster, OH and Becky and husband Brian Duke, Port Richey, FL;  grandchildren, Michael Wing, Alexia Wing, Breanne (Adrianne) Duke and Abby (Jeff) Laird; 7 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Shirley (John) Lake and Vicki (Bruce) McConnell; brothers-in-law, Roger (Patty) Southward and Jim Kokai; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, Jane (Dennis) Schorr.

Bob was a graduate of Ohio University and was retired from the Chillicothe City Schools after serving 34 years as a teacher and principal. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and had attended Springbank Church, and was a member of the United Methodist Men, the Emmaus Community, the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club, and the Retired Teachers Association. Bob had served as dedicated volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center and was a member of the Chillicothe Paint’s Booster Club and hosted many Paint’s players over the years. He was an avid bridge and card enthusiast and will be remembered for portraying Santa Claus in the community for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, in Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastors Wes Souders and Jim Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Regional Medical Center Foundation or to a charity of choice.
