Richard L. Nowlin, 69, of Chillicothe, passed suddenly from this life, 2:30 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the Adams County Regional Medical Center. He was born December 12, 1941 in Williamson, WV, the son of the late John Arch Nowlin and the late Ruby Farmer Nowlin. On July 25, 1970, he married the former Barbara Tanner who survives. Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Gator McBride, Grove City and Jill and Calvin Murphy, Georgetown, KY, 5 grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, and Austin Elliott, Charlie McBride, and Serena Nowlin-Murphy, a mother-in-law Geraldine Tanner, and many friends and acquaintances. Rich was a graduate of the Greenbrier Military School, he attended the University of Kentucky and Concord College, and had been a member of the West Virginia National Guard. Rich was an avid Drag Racing enthusiast, and loved his time at the tracks with his own car number 310. Rich was a HVAC Technician in the area for many years and was always fixing and repairing things for people. He drove around Chillicothe in his Blue Dodge Truck with Jake, his Black Labrador companion in the passenger seat. A celebration of Rich's life will be held 4:00PM Sunday, May 8, 2011 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, with Rev. Alan Cory moderating.
