Richard G. McQuirt, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday evening, May 6, 2009 in Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness. He was born Apr. 27, 1931 in Columbus, the son of Ernest and Edith (Holycross) McQuirt. On July 22, 1982 he married E. Sue Hupp who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Vada (Robin) Adams, Chillicothe, Sonia (Bill) Fitch, Ray, Maryann McQuirt, Columbus, Donna Dennewitz and companion, Terry Good, Frankfort and Beth Countryman and companion, Duane Carroll, Chillicothe, sons Michael and Wolfgang McQuirt, Germany, Richard (Joan) McQuirt, Columbus, John (Roni) McQuirt, McArthur, Walter Gene (Mary) McQuirt, Sam Dennewitz, and Dennis (Cathy) Dennewitz, all of Chillicothe, 28 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, a sister, Vada Ash, Columbus and a brother, Bob Eisnnicher, Columbus. His parents and 5 brother preceded him in death. Mr. McQuirt was a truck driver and was also employed as a cook at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chillicothe and at the Ross County Sheriff's Department. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army and a member of VFW Post 108 and AMVET Post 4. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
