Rhoda C. (Cargo) Hixon

Rhoda C. Hixon, 101, of Chillicothe, passed from this life 7:22 am, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Traditions of Chillicothe.
She was born August 17, 1913, in Gallia County, the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Cash Cargo. On June 21, 1936 she married the late Harold T. Hixon, who preceded her in death March 15, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Ann and Gary Brenning, a son Paul Hixon, and a daughter Beth Hixon, all of Chillicothe; 3 grandchildren, Craig (Kim) Fry, Mitzi (Ron) Green, and Nancy Hixon; 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter Fry, Heather Fry, Emma Green, and Lance Green, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 2 brothers, a son-in-law, Ed Fry, a daughter-in-law, Carol Hixon, and a grandson, Charles Hixon, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hixon was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church; she joined the church in 1931, and was a faithful member for over 80 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, serving as President several times.
Funeral services will be 4:00PM, Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Kurt King officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Church Kitchen Renovation Fund, 24 S. Mulberry St, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
