Osie L. Malone

Osie L. Malone, 89, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Sunday morning, Mar. 25, 2007 in Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born June 4, 1917 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Carrie Mae (Childers) Bethel. She was married to Silas Eugene Malone who preceded her in death in 1971. Surviving are her son, John Wesley and his wife, Rose Malone, her daughter, Freda Ann and her husband, Carroll Pigman, all of Chillicothe, a sister, Esther (Donald) Clark, Port Ritchey, FL, a brother, Herman (Betty) Bethel, Tecumseh, MI, grandchildren, Vicki (Rick) Waytowich, Jacksonville, FL, Mary Kathleen (Paul) Kelly, Teaneck, NJ, Roger Larry A. (Barbara) Heshiser II, San Antonio, TX, great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Danica Waytowich, Keith Kelly, Meghan and Lance Heshiser and a host of nieces, nephews and their children. Her son, Donald Eugene Malone, a daughter, Zenithe Faye Malone, a grandson, Michael John Malone and sisters, Virgil Caroline Bethel, Gertrude (Jim) Whiting and Norma Jean (Neil) Jones preceded her in death. Mrs. Malone worked many years as the Head of Housekeeping at the Holiday Inn. She also retired after many years as receptionist of Drs. Siegler and Wiltshire. She was a volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center for more than 20 years and was well known for her love of dressing up as a Leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day, an Elf for Christmas, a Scarecrow of Thanksgiving, a bunny of Easter and many other costumes for events at the hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Mar. 30, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday.
