Olive Jeanne Taylor, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 7, 2010 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born Sept. 30, 1926 in Pike County, the daughter of George Jacob and Alwilda (Hartley) Stokes. On Jan. 23, 1948 she married Ralph W. Taylor who preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1982. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Keith Putnam, Frankfort, a son and daughter-in-law, Theodore B. and Kathy Taylor, Chillicothe, a "special son" whom she raised, Lewis and wife, Pamela Throckmorton, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Bryan and wife, Dawn Putnam, Brad and wife, Carey Putnam, Keva Putnam and Kimberly Robson, great-grandchildren, Tucker, Devin, Rylee, Abby and Carson Putnam and a sister, Marion Rhinehart, Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin daughters, a sister and 3 brothers. Olive was a 60 year member of Dry Run United Methodist Church, a 50 year volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center, a 50 year member of Delta Sigma Kappa and the Eastern Avenue Ladies Aid Society. An avid bowler, she was a member of the Woman's Bowling Association, The 500 Club, The 600 Club and was inducted into the Ohio Woman's Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004. Always a sports fan, she loved the Cincinnati Reds. She was a fifty year cancer survivor and opened the 2010 Ross County Relay for Life as the longest survivor in Ross County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday (today). A memorial service by Delta Kappa Sigma will be hled at 7:30 pm.
