Nancy Carolyn Shields

Nancy Carolyn Shields, 87, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Valley View Care Center, Frankfort, following an extended illness. She was born November 16, 1934 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Milton and Vivia (Oaks) Tyo. On June 5, 1955 she married the love of her life, Joseph Harmon Shields who preceded her in death on May 5, 2021.

Surviving is her son; Joseph (Judy) Shields, Chillicothe, grandchildren; Tonya (Andy) Hartman, Richmond Dale, Heather (Jake) Newman, Chillicothe, step grandson; Clifford Edwards, Gainsville, FL, great-grandchildren; Cheyenne and Chad; a step great-grandson; Dockery; a brother William (Beverly) Tyo, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Nancy attended the Concord Presbyterian Church. She was an avid collector of anything Pillsbury Doughboy, she also enjoyed bowling, crafting, cooking and canning. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.

A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Cameron Caseman officiating. Calling hours will not be observed.
