Myrtle Louise Sayre

Myrtle Louise Sayre, 78, of Londonderry, passed from this life early Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born Mar. 20, 1929 in Ross County, the daughter of Henry and Daisy (Vest) Staffan. On Mar. 8, 1948 she married Floyd J. Sayre who preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1990. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Garry Osborne and Vickie and Danny Weese, all of Londonderry, Rita and Bill Baxter, Ray, Karen and Everett Copenhaver, Kingston and Becky and Jim Blaney, Cardington, sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Jacquelyn Sayre, Londonderry and Tim and Sheila Sayre, Chillicothe, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister, Juanita Garlitz, Kingston and a special cousin, Mary Ann Faulkner, Chillicothe. Her parents, an infant daughter, Betty Lou Sayre, a sister, Mary E. Hardesty and a brother, Jacob Henry Staffan preceded her in death. Mrs. Sayre was a cook for the Londonderry Elementary School, retiring after 20 years of service. She was also a greeter at Wal-Mart in Chillicothe. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Auxier officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
