Mintie Jane Stevens

March 11, 1932 — April 30, 2012

Mintie Jane “Myrt” Stevens, 80, of Chillicothe , departed this life to be with her Lord on Monday morning, April 30, 2012 in Kobacker House, Columbus following an extended illness. She was born March 11, 1932 in Chillicothe , the daughter of William McKinley “M.C.” and Tealie (Montgomery) Tackett. On June 10, 1950 she married William L. “Bill” Stevens who preceded her in death on August 18, 1995 .

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William R. “Rick” and Peggy Stevens, Grove City; grandchildren, Jenny (Mike) Cavey, Kelly Stevens and Megan Stevens; great-grandchildren, Tessa and Brynn Cavey; 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Judy, Georgia Graves, Jenny Jenkins and Louise (Bob) Weaver; a brother, Wendell (Sharon) Tackett; a daughter-in-law, Janet (Stevens) Hedges and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Randy Lewis Stevens and Rex Lane Stevens and brothers, Stanley and William “Bill” Tackett.

Mintie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister and loved by all who knew her. She had attended the First Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ross County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and being with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 4, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Mitchell Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday.
