Michael A. Hoffman

Michael A. Hoffman, 56, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 18, 1954 in Chillicothe, the son of Allen Gene and Della Ann (Elliott) Hoffman. On Apr. 15, 1978 he married Cheryl E. Congrove who survives. Also surviving is his mother, Della Penisten, mother-in law and father-in-law, Eldon and Joyce Congrove, a daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Adam Coates, and a son, Brian Hoffman, all of Chillicothe, sisters, Margaret Clifton, Chillicothe and Debbie Hoffman, Clarksburg, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan and Rose Congrove, Hallsville and Tom and Kerry Congrove, Commercial Point, a special uncle and aunt, Gary and Karen Hoffman, Chillicothe, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends and his faithful canine companion, Haylie. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. Mike was an activities therapist for the Chillicothe Correctional Institute and had been an employee of the Budd Company for 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and flea marketing. A devoted husband and father, his family was his life. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
