Melissa “Missy” Nichole Simkins , 31. In the early morning of Thursday, February 26, 2015, Missy left this world for a better place following an extended illness in Chillicothe, Ohio. The daughter of Denise (Larry) Entingh and Thomas (Tammy) Simkins, Missy was born on Sunday, June 19, 1983 in Chillicothe, Ohio where she lived most of her life.
Missy’s spirit will be kept alive through those whose lives’ she touched. In addition to her parents, Missy is survived by: two children who lit up her world--Brooklyn Nichole Crane and Chaz “CJ” Ray Cain II; sisters, Michele (Mike) Jarrell, Hailey (Caleb Faulkner) Simkins, Lesley Simkins and Carley Simkins; brothers, Dylan (Sara) Smith, Randy “RJ” Fisher and Tyler Entingh; Grandparents, Beverly Simkins, William Owens, Portia (James) Boulger, and Robert (Molly) Davis; nieces, Lily Jarrell and Madilyn Smith; nephew, Carter Falkner, Aunts, Lisa Fisher, Ronda Simkins, Chrissy Riggin, and Kara Hunter; and Uncles Chris Owens and Rob Davis, and countless other family and friends.
Missy was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Bernadine Owens, her paternal grandfather, George “Jim” Simkins, and an uncle, William “Mike” Owens.
Missy graduated from Union-Scioto High School in 2001where she excelled in softball and attended Ohio University-Chillicothe. She spent most of her adult life working in the service industry, spending many years as a server at the Dock on Water in Chillicothe, Ohio.
One would be hard pressed to find a truer and more faithful friend than Missy. She loved fiercely and with her whole heart, often thinking of others more than herself. Her smile lit up the room and her laughter was contagious.
A celebration of Missy’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Smith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and are invited to join Missy’s family after the services on Wednesday at the American Legion Ross County Post 62, 53 W. Main Street.
