Maynard Detty

Maynard A. Detty, 73 of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully, 8:40 am, Thursday, May 10, 2007 in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born March 3, 1934, in Londonderry, the son of the late Howard and the late Gladys Fouty Detty. On July 22, 1953, he married the former Shirley Marie Davis who survives. Also surviving are six children; daughters Terrie and Angela of Chillicothe; and sons Brian (Sheila), Bruce (Cindy), David, and Robert (Angie) all residing in Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren, including Gavin Robert, Bryce Mycheal, and Jaron Zane; three sisters Rose (Harry) Benson and Willa (Jack) Miller, of Chillicothe; and Verna (Robert) Fry of Mt. Vernon; and one brother Larry (Nancy) Detty of Chillicothe. One daughter, Crystal Marie, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Detty was a lifelong resident of Chillicothe. He had worked for 14 years at the Chillicothe Veteran's Administration Medical Center, and later he worked at the Mead (Glatfelter Papers) where he retired after 32 years of service. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Monday.
