Mary Ann Thacker

Mary Ann Bolte Thacker, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 30, 1930 in Londonderry, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Timmons) Bolte. On Aug. 6, 1948 she married Carroll E. Thacker who survives. Together, they shared more than 60 years together. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Kurt Schmitter, Hilliard, OH, sons, Michael Thacker and his companion, Becky Hammond, Chillicothe and Mark and his wife, Kym Thacker, Pittsboro, NC, grandchildren, Dustin, Nicole, Jeremy, Aric, Chelsea and Holly, great grandchildren, Cody, Lainey, Elyssa and Iggi, sisters, Kay and husband, Paul Linn, Bargersville, IN and Dorthea Platt, Versailles, OH, sisters-in-law, Betty, Shirley and Loueda and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her parents, in-laws, Oscar and Margaret Thacker, sister, Roberta Hawk, brothers, Donald, John and Vernon "Butch" Bolte, brother-in-law, Charles Platt and 2 nephews preceded her in death. Mrs. Thacker was a graduate of Southeastern High School. She was a retired Reading Recovery Aide for the Chillicothe City Schools with 20 years of service and was a member of Brookside Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday
