Mary M. (Filsinger) Peck, 90 of Chillicothe, passed from this life at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home at 5:35 a.m. Monday, May 31, 2010 following an extended illness. She was born December 17, 1919 in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Fred and Edna Filsinger. On June 2, 1939, she married Guy M. Peck, who died on June 24, 1976. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gene Richard and Susie Peck of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Dennis M. Peck and Carol Davis of Waukesha, Wisconsin; grandchildren Jody (Fred) McLaughlin of Johnstown, Oh; Julie Beidelschies of Columbus, Oh; Jeffrey M. Peck of Buffalo, OH; step grandchildren Kimberly Hale of Circleville, OH; Kelley (Alan) Blankenship of Chillicothe and Gary (Jodi) Myers of Shelby, OH; great grandchildren Kelly , Courtney and Craig McLaughlin; Amanda Beidelschies- Cunningham, Aaron and Johnnie Beidelschies; step great grandchildren Breanne and Brice Hale, Corey and Taylor Blankenship; Keira, Shane and Travis Myers; sisters-in law Jeanette Filsinger of Tallahassee, FL, and Dorothy Filsinger of Chillicothe, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Bateman Spencer; brothers Karl Filsinger , Fred Filsinger, Jr. and Lowell Filsinger; daughter-in-law Sandra Buck Peck; grandson Douglas M. Peck; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Carol Peck; sister-in-law Evelyn Filsinger, and special friend Kathleen (Katie) Dawson. Mary graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1937. She began her employment with the Mead Paper Company on April 15, 1948, holding numerous positions and retired in 1977 with 30 years of service. Mary had a zest for life, she enjoyed music, playing the organ, dancing, and playing Bingo. She was an accomplished artist and received numerous awards for her paintings at the Senior Artists Competition in Rio Grande, OH. She was an active member of the Ross County Senior's Center, and the Mead Retiree's Association. Mary was a member of Walnut Street Methodist Church and Sarah Circle. Friends may call at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm following the calling hours with Pastor Mark Filsinger officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ross County Senior's Center.
