Mary V. Hatfield Bartlett

Mary Violet Hatfield Bartlett, 92 of Chillicothe passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan 27, 2021 in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness.  She was born Oct. 6, 1928 in Ross County, the daughter of Millard and Stella (Tucker) Sanders.  In 1945 she married Robert E. Hatfield who preceded her in death Apr. 27, 1983.  In 2008 she married Carl Bartlett who preceded her in death June 17, 2019.

Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie Lou Summanen, Grove City; her son, Bob Hatfield, Sr., Pike County; her stepchildren, Janice (Roger) Poole and Carl Bartlett, all of Chillicothe; a special daughter-in-law, Kathy Hatfield, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tammy Brown, Melissa Lantzy, Rob Hatfield, and Christy Fannin; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lois Cutright, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her grandson, Gale Grubb, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, her son-in-law, Guy Summanen, and a niece, Marilyn Good.

Mary had been an employee of Britt’s Department Store and the Dairy Queen.  She was a member of the Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union.  She loved to read her bible and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Private visitation and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  A public graveside service will be held at approximately 2:15 pm in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Social distancing and masks are requested.  The funeral service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website (www.fawcett-palmer.com) beginning at approximately 12:55 pm on Tuesday.
